The Ferndale Food Bank is located on the Whatcom Transit Authority parking lot just east of I-5. We became a non-profit organization in 1981.
Each year we distribute 250,000 pounds of food yearly to over 5,400 families. For the past 36 years we have served thousands of people which are homeless and working poor, because poverty comes in all forms.
In 2004, we moved into our new building, which enables us to continue to serve more people. We currently serve 7,000 clients per year and distribute more than 300,000 pounds of food yearly.
Who We Are
A diverse group of concerned community volunteers joining together in the goal to help eliminate hunger.
We collect, sort, clean and store the many thousands of pounds of food we distribute to help with this goal. This includes daily pickup from local area markets who generously donate to our needs.
What We Do
We distribute food to the needy on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday
from 9-11 am.
In addition, Federal Commodity Foods are distributed on the last Thursday of the month from 9-11 am.
